The computer evolution has been amazing one.There have been astonishing achievements in the computer industry. Computers have changed drastically through out the last 40 years.The advancement of the computing technology could commonly identify in six generations. The physical size of the computers significantly decreased from the first generation vaccum tube computers to sixth generation computers chip efficiency by developing the very scale integration(VLSI) and ultra large scale integration technology(ULSI).
Department of Computer Science & Engineering at HKBKCE is a fast growing discipline on a high growth path keeping in pace with the current technological trends. Its vision is to advance the intellectual capacity of the nation and the international community by imparting knowledge to graduates who are globally recognized as innovators, entrepreneur and competent professionals.The programs intend to train students in advanced core courses that have been the foundation of our field, as well as emerging technology that are being used in latest revolutionary concepts, such as Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, and so on.
The Department moulds young outstanding engineers who are academically strong in both theory and practicals. It organizes supplementary programs, which include Paper Presentations, Technical seminars & Mock Interviews to prepare the student for a career in the computing field or for graduate study. Special orientation is provided to the staff periodically for updating their acumen and to imbibe the latest technological changesWith highly talented faculty, department boasts of a unique mode of teaching using advanced modes which actively involves interactions with students to help them gain practical exposure matching with industry needs. Faculty Strength, Modern Teaching Aids,infrastructure setup, Browsing facilities etc. are a major concern at the department. The courses are maintained through the Learning Management system (Moodle). Department also interacts with industries on a regular basis to understand the developments and incorporate them as a content beyond curriculum.
The end goal of our Computer Science engineering program is to prepare candidates for a rewarding career as computing professionals. Our graduates have gone on to illustrious careers at leading companies like Google, Amazon, IBM, GAAR, Bosch etc. Our project-based approach has helped our students to build a portfolio which showcase to employers to demonstrate their achievements in the best way possible.

2002 : Intake has increased from 60 to 90
2011 : Intake has increased from 90 to 120
2016 : Intake has increased from 120 to 180
Qualification: Passed in Second PUC/12th standard/10+2/A Level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with English as one of the Languages and obtained a minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Biology/Electronics/Computer. (40% for SC, ST, category - 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates of Karnataka State only.) Relaxation in minimum academic eligibility (i.e. 45% to 40%) is applicable only to Karnataka Candidates.

3 days SDP on "Networks Simulator-2" with hands on
Lab 01: Ubuntu 16.04 OS is installed for 27 systems. For CGVL Lab OpenGL software is installed and for CN lab NS 2.35 software is installed. The Instructional Area is about 105.4 Sq. mt
Lab 02: Fedora 8 and Windows 7 OS are installed for 27 systems along with the softwares like flex, byacc, java, etc.The Instructional Area is about 102 Sq. mt
